    Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
    Conduct unbiased field investigations and analyze failures regarding structural and construction claims involving residential, commercial, and industrial properties
    Determine of the origin, cause, and extent of structural failures, water intrusions, roof damage, construction defects, and building system failures, including envelope, roof, wall, and glazing
    Assignments may include foundation settlement investigations, structural assessments, site evaluations, sub-surface investigations, and vibration analysis.
    Analyze failures in buildings and other infrastructure systems by conducting site visits and applying engineering principles and practices in accordance with codes and industry standards
    Prepare oral and written reports in layman's terms that document causes of failure, extent of loss, and recommended remediation
    Deliver professional presentations, develop and retain client relationships, and promote self to client and professional groups
    Ability to appropriately support conclusions in expert testimony for legal proceedings
    Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies

    Position Requirements:
    Bachelor's degree in Architectural, Civil, or Structural Engineering
    Minimum of four (4) years of post-academic civil or structural engineering experience
    P.E. and S.E registration or willingness and ability to obtain within 12 months
    Mixed time between field sites and the office
    Exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills

    Preferred:
    Advanced degree in Architecture, Civil, or Structural Engineering
    Seven (7) years of post-academic civil or structural engineering experience
    P.E. registration

    (highly preferred )
    S.E. registration ( highly preferred )
    Public speaking experience

    Physical Requirements:
    Ability to lift 50 lbs.
    Ability to climb ladders and inspect roofs
    Ability to maneuver in and around buildings and in confined spaces
    Ability to drive to site locations
