Role Snapshot:

Title: Project Engineer – Heavy Civil (Highway & Bridge)

Location: Oxford, CT

Project Type: Heavy Highway & Bridge / DOT Infrastructure

Compensation: $60,000 – $80,000 Base

What You'll Be Doing:

• Support Superintendents and Project Managers with day-to-day project execution
• Prepare, review, submit, and track shop drawings and technical submittals
• Maintain project documentation, logs, and daily reports
• Assist with project scheduling, coordination, and look-ahead planning
• Track change orders, extra work, quantities, labor, equipment, and materials
• Provide technical review of field work to ensure compliance with plans and specifications
• Coordinate long-lead material procurement critical to project schedules
• Review subcontractor and supplier compliance with contract requirements
• Monitor project costs by reviewing approved and coded invoices
• Assist with quality control and inspection of subcontractor operations
• Support correspondence with DOT agencies, subcontractors, and vendors
• Utilize construction technology to track RFIs, COs, budgets, quantities, and schedules
• Attend project meetings and jobsite walks as needed
• Assist with field office setup, logistics, and special projects

What Is Sought:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)
• 1+ year of CTDOT project exposure
• 1+ year of highway construction experience
• 3+ years of concrete construction experience
• Experience with budgeting, cost tracking, and quantity tracking
• Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications
• Ability to work closely with field teams in an active jobsite environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software
• Valid driver's license
• Engineer in Training (EIT) credential preferred
• Ability to travel up to 25% as needed
