    Job Summary:


    Obtains material from suppliers at the lowest cost consistent with considerations of quality, reliability of source and urgency of need.

    Interviews vendors and recommends sources of supply.

    Analyzes quotations received from vendors, selects or recommends suppliers with whom orders are to be placed and schedules deliveries. Edits purchase requests and prepares purchase orders. Maintains files and records of materials, prices, inventories and deliveries. Operates appropriate office equipment including computer.

    Essential Job Functions
    Prepares all purchase orders for vendors.

    Researches, analyzes, and forecasts current and future buying trends, markets, styles, and products, with attention to specified target market and demographics.

    Develops and maintains relationships with wholesalers and suppliers.
    Negotiates contracts with wholesalers and suppliers.
    Assesses financial risks of purchases.
    Supervises the entry from daily reports for production, receipts and shipments.
    Developing an effective and accurate system for monitoring purchase orders
    Delivering a weekly purchase order report to supervisors that indicates the invoice number for all closed orders
    Working within the management team to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned orders and report any back ordered or missing products
    Assisting the Supply Chain Manager with maintaining inventory levels and materials on a regular basis
    Effectively communicating with the management team to ensure all orders are accurate

    Skills and Qualifications:

    Prepare daily, and verify accuracy of, reports for:
    WIP, parts shipped, fastener inventory, steel inventory and material usage.

    Performs all purchasing activities according to company policy for Maintenance, Die Repair, Fixture Repair, Quality, Production, Office Supplies and Shipping / Receiving.

    Helps maintain a safe working environment as dictated by company policies and governmental regulations.
    Commits to the corporate goals, mission and vision.
    Submits at least one Continuous Improvement per quarter.
    Strong interpersonal skills to work with team members, clients and suppliers
    Negotiation skills to work with suppliers and make better deals for the company
    An understanding of purchase order software platforms
    Good attention to detail to ensure all purchase orders are accurate
    Ability to work with a team
    Math skills to make sure all calculations are correct and avoid any unforeseen losses for the company.

    Education and Experience:
    At least two years of manufacturing experience required.
    Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or related field preferred.

    Physical Requirements:
    Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
    Exposed to loud noises when on the production floor.
    Required to wear PPE, when on the production floor.
