    $113,189.00/yr minimum - $169,784.00/yr maximum (range increases based on education, experience and certifications)

    Responsible for attending to the medication needs of the patients and provide drug information to patients, pharmacists, physicians, nurses and other hospital staff.

    Responsibilities

    • Safety
      • Manages processes effectively in regard to employee/patient safety.
    • Record Keeping
      • Maintains all required records, reports, statistics, logs, files and other documents as required, including but not limited to payroll, schedules and status changes.
    • Process Improvement
      • Promotes a culture of process improvement by establishing unit/department based programs that supports the system's process improvement goals.
      • Actively participates on system-wide or hospital-based teams.
    • Role Specific Responsibilies
      • Educates patients on medication usage.
      • Maintains records, processes and monitors narcotic usage.
      • Monitors drug therapy, takes an active role in drug utilization , intervenes on the patients behalf as necessary, including conferring with providers and other caregivers about therapy, and documents those interventions.
      • Obtains and maintains competence in pharmacy, including assigned areas and required continuing education.
      • Oversees technician staff.
      • Participates in community health related events.
      • Participates in work assignments at other SIH facilities.
      • Prepares IV admixtures and other medications.
      • Reviews, interprets, and processes provider medication orders.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy (Registered)
    • Doctorate of Pharmacy (Clinical)
    • Illinois license of Pharmacy
