    Description
    *Job Purpose*Design, maintain, and perform key piping, structural, and civil drafting duties for daily maintenance and mid to large capex projects. Provide management, process owners and operators with updated engineering documentation that meets OSHA safety regulations, ASME code, and feasibility. Assist and provide maintenance reliability support to the site.

    *Main Tasks And Responsibilities
    • Always prioritize safety and maintain safe work practices by actively contributing to all safety programs.
    • Conduct necessary fieldwork inclusive of walk downs of current systems, locate tie-ins, measuring, and piping sketches required.
    • Pick up all redlines and keep up to date records on all process P&ID's.
    • Complete isometric drawings and piping layouts as needed.
    • Assist MI with pressure/storage vessels and piping inspections. This includes proper documentation of inspections
    • Serve as backup RSO
    • Assist with development of turnaround inspection plans
    • Assist in leading and guiding the maintenance team. This includes maintenance planning and scheduling, I&E technical support, and miscellaneous maintenance design work.
    • Design and develop 3D models utilizing Bentley Open Plant software.
    • Setup, maintain, & administer settings for Bentley 3D Open Plant Modeller design software for both Bay City and Bishop Site.
    • Perform 3D model reviews with project team for design approvals.
    • Help maintain drafting standards and design specifications across all drawings and engineering documentation.
    • Ensure maintenance and EPC fabricators are in compliance with piping standards.
    • Help manage onsite contractors and companies with construction projects as needed.
    • Provide vendors with proper documentation and information needed for required work.
    • Review project parameters related to piping requirements.
    • Develop bills of materials for purchasing materials required to complete the designed piping jobs.
    • Quote, order, track piping specialty components required by outside vendor.
    • Maintain and complete MOC work as required
    • Teach, guide, manage, and provide productive projects for all mechanical engineering students for summer internships.

    • Vendors, EPC contractors
    *Notable Working Conditions*Chemical Plant environment - to minimize safety occurrences the piping designer must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) to protect themselves from harm. Must be able to lift 25 pounds, climb structures, stand for 50% of the time and walk for extended periods of time. May be exposed to external changing weather conditions.

    *Education Requirements*Mechanical Engineering degree or years of experience in leiu of degree, Drafting Design Certification

    *Language Requirements*English

    *Background And Experience
    • Mechanical engineering or similar degree
    • Minimum 2–5-year mechanical piping & equipment design experience.
    • Minimum 2–5-year CAD drafting and engineering design software experience.
    • P&ID & engineering documentation, blueprint, fabrication drawing experience.
    • 3D CAD drafting knowledge
    • ASTM, ANSI, & PIP standards
    • Bentley ProjectWise
    • MOC
    • Mechanical/Reliability engineering
    • Certification in API 510, 570, and 653 required before or after hiring.
    • SAP

    $70, $80,000.00 per year
