    Summary:


    This position is responsible for assisting students to correctly complete applications for financial assistance from federal, state, and local programs.

    Must maintain compliance with all State, Federal, Title IV Funding requirements and accrediting standards.

    Keep updated on changes in the administration of Financial Aid programs by attending training workshops and reading financial Aid publications and related materials.


    Responsibilities:

    • Ensures duties and responsibilities are aligned with CompuMed Vocational Careers' (CMVC) Mission and Vision.
    • Interprets, implements and ensures the University is in compliance with state and federal agencies by maintaining a thorough knowledge of federal and state financial aid rules and regulations.
    • Responsible for packaging, awarding, and distribution of federal and state financial aid resources to eligible students in accordance with all federal and state rules and regulations.
    • Counsels and advises students concerning financial aid opportunities, application processes and financial management strategies.
    Educates students in the identification of all sources of financial aid available, including the requirements and regulations within programs. Programs and opportunities may include scholarships.

    • Assist with developing, implementing and maintaining policies and procedures that ensure timely and accurate processing of financial aid programs and the highest quality of services.
    • Assist in presenting financial aid entrance and exit workshops to students, prospective students, parents and the community.
    • Advises students regarding academic and career objectives in relation to financial aid; reviews student status to determine continuance or increase/decrease of financial aid.
    • Assist in providing training, evaluation, work direction and guidance to assigned staff. Reviews and monitors the work of staff to ensure compliance and accuracy with all state and federal policies and regulations.
    • Participates on University committees as required or in the absence of the Associate Vice President of Financial Aid.
    • Ensures high level of customer service is being provided throughout the student Financial Aid process · Ensures that all relevant paperwork is accurate and personally filled out by the student and or family member as it applies.
    • Performs data entry and file maintenance on the CampusVue, and related data management systems.
    · Performs need analysis and financial aid packaging in CampusVue and related data management systems.

    • Verifies and corrects financial aid application data.
    Prepares Professional Judgment applications for review by the Associate Vice President of Financial Aid and Compliance Officer · Maintains FA student files, assembles new student information and application packages and performs other clerical assignments


    Requirements:

    • High School Diploma Required
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) Preferred
    • Excellent communication skills and have a flexible schedule, with one to two evening shifts a week or as needed.
    Ability to work in fast paced environment. CampusVue experience required.

    • Minimum 1 year prior work experience in Financial Aid Department in a post secondary institution.
    Experience in working with COD and FSEOG.

    -1 years of sales or related experience with a proven track record of success, Excellent communication skills, Relates well with others & ability to build great rapports.

    • Requires persistence combined with a positive attitude and approach to work and others Self motivating work style, Ability to work well in a fast paced, results driven environment.
    Dynamic, outgoing and positive with a strong focus on exceptional customer service.

    • Must be proficient in basic computer skills & Strong organizational.
    Excellent Time management skills.
