    The AWS Applications team is seeking a Director of AWS Customer Data & Advertising, a highly visible leadership role with a growing portfolio of products.

    This senior leader will drive broad industry transformation and game changing business outcomes on AWS.

    The ideal candidate should have experience in customer data, big data analytics, data lakes, data privacy, and strength in data-related infrastructure concepts.

    In addition to a strong ability to lead multi-functional service teams and deep technical knowledge, the ideal candidate should thrive in a fast-paced, start-up like environment, be passionate about solving ambiguous problems with an aptitude to prioritize the right aspects of the business strategy for these related products across many enterprise industry verticals.

    The ideal candidate also exhibits understanding of consumer data privacy challenges in relevant industries such as advertising and marketing, financial services, as well as health care and life science, and the relevant industry trends.

    They should have a good understanding of the trends in the consumer data, consumer data privacy and knowledge and interest in the evolution of relevant industries such as health sciences or marketing and advertising technology as a result.

    Basic Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree and/or Master's degree in Computer Science

    12+ years of industry experience of increasing responsibility running engineering teams

    Strong knowledge of systems architecture, loosely coupled and distributed systems for massive scale

    Prior leadership experience managing a number of development teams concurrently as well as multiple, competing priorities simultaneously

    Multidisciplinary experience overseeing software development, program/project management and QA

    Experience with solving and operating business solutions requiring high availability, high scaling, low latency

    Proficiency in system-level design, and experience with web services and service oriented architectures; Candidates must think at scale

    Superior communication and analytical skills, including strong ability to identify and solve ambiguous problems.

    Candidates must be creative, flexible and self-motivated.

    Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams through influence versus direct management; excellent interpersonal skills

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience architecting and operating large scale systems

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets.

    The base pay for this position ranges from $264,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $350,000/year in our highest geographic market.

    Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
