Description

Job Title: Scoreboard Operator
Department: Ford Ice Center
Status: Non - Exempt (Part time)
Job Reports To: Hockey Operations Coordinator

Primary Focus:
Be part of the Event Staff Team, collaborating with teams, coaches, officials, Game Day Supervisors, and athletics staff to manage game day operations at Ford Ice Center events. Interact professionally with attendees of such events.

Main Responsibilities/Activities:

Verify team rosters before games and collect necessary signatures.
Coordinate with officials to ensure awareness of any specific rules.
Operate the scoreboard during games to keep them on schedule.
Aid in tracking goals/assists and inputting data.
Radio 5 and 3 minute warnings for officials before warm-ups and periods.
Assist in moving nets to maintain schedule during ice cuts.
Distribute paperwork to coaches, captains, and staff post-game.

Minimum Qualifications:

Passion for sports and events.
Understanding of hockey and its rules.
Team player with experience in game day operations, event planning, customer service, and promotions.
Background check, including criminal and driving history, required for employment.

Essential Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift or carry up to 50 lbs.
Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Exposure to bright lights, extreme temperatures, and loud noises.
Effective communication skills and ability to move equipment.

Equipment Utilized:

Office equipment, barcoding scanner system, industrial and hockey equipment, ice resurfacing tools, and scoreboard equipment.
