- Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
- Unit Capacity: 24 Beds, one lead lined room suitable for radiation isolation
- Population Served: Patients with the following diagnosis: Solid tumors (most frequently lung, breast, colon)/Leukemia, Lymphomas, Myeloma/Gynecologic malignancies (primarily ovarian and cervical)/Cancer symptom management/Febrile Neutropenia/Uncontrolled pain/Sickle Cell Anemia/Hematologic diseases/Post operative Mastectomy/Post operative Gynecological Oncology/Med/Surg overflow
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- National Institutes of Health (NIH)
- Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) Certification
- Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- The ability to stand for extended periods.
- Strong technical skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Passionate about patient care
- Requires a minimum of two years of RN Med/Surg experience.
- Graduate from a fully accredited RN program
- Active unencumbered RN Illinois state license
- One year of Epic experience
- COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster.
- Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.
- Participates in relevant continuing education programs.
- Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.
- Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.
- A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.
- Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
