Department: Operations
Reports To: Chief of Operations
Location: FMASSC
General Summary: This position maintains and cleans designated areas within the Audubon Species Survival Center and Audubon Wilderness Park grounds, buildings and restrooms to ensure that each guest receives an excellent Audubon Experience during every visit. Assists with setup and breakdown for events. Other duties as assigned.

To deliver the Audubon mission, the Facility Services Attendant will:
Provide a guest experience of outstanding quality.
• Reports all maintenance and service needs to supervisor in a timely manner to insure safe operations.
• Follows the informal and formal departmental standards, policies/procedures and goals to promote service excellence.
Weave quality entertainment through the guest experience.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
• Vacuums carpets, sweeps and mops floors, cleans glass windows, dusts and polishes furniture, woodwork and fixtures of all assigned cleaning areas, buildings or rooms.
• Cleans and maintains public spaces and restrooms. Completes restroom checklist upon each cleaning.
• Empties trash cans in buildings, restrooms.
• Other operational duties, as assigned, including helping with grounds care as needed.
Operate a financially self-sufficient collection of museums and parks.
• Completes all assigned Work Requests in a timely manner.
• Takes initiative to report areas of concern and follows proper channels to effectively remedy problems.
• Performs duties effectively without constant supervision.
• Performs various other job duties as needed and directed by Chief of Operations.
• Willingness to attend blood borne pathogens, pressure washer operation training, as well as any other training deemed relevant and necessary by Chief of Operations.
• Must adhere to all regulations regarding animal safety and care.

Supervision: N/A
Experience: Previous facility service attendant (janitorial/custodial) and/or landscape/grounds experience preferred. Familiarity with common tools of the trade, including but not limited to: mop, broom, rake, leaf blower, lawn mower, line trimmer, hand and power tools, and vacuum.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent and valid Louisiana driver's license.
Physical Requirements:
1. Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. May involve sitting but will involve walking or standing for extended periods of time. May involve kneeling or stooping for extended periods.
2. Sitting or standing, bending, stooping, and the ability to carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
3. Ability to walk up to one mile while performing upper body tasks with minimal rest
4. Constant adequate range of motion and mobility required.
5. Ability to operate common equipment used to clean and perform landscape maintenance, including but not limited to: mop, broom, rake, leaf blower, lawn mower, line trimmer.
6. Regular near acuity with clarity of vision at 20 inches or less required.
7. Typical ability to collect and analyse numerical and written data and verbal information to reach logical conclusions and ability to determine the time, place and sequence of operations or actions required.
8. Regular talking and the ability to express and exchange ideas by means of language expected.
9. Regular hearing and the ability to perceive the nature of sounds.
10. Constant ability to read, record, or type data quickly and accurately required.
Environmental/Working Conditions:
1. Working long hours between breaks or meals required.
2. Ability to work under and handle stress in an appropriate manner required.
3. May be exposed to high, medium, or low noise intensity.
4. Constant contact with co-workers required.
5. Affinity for animals and nature preferred.
6. Exposure to fluctuations in temperatures may be required.
7. Exposure to outdoor conditions will be required.
8. Ability to work flexible hours, overtime, evenings, weekends and holidays; and ability to adhere to set schedule.
