    Description

    Salary - DOE

    Location : Big Spring, TX

    Shift Available : Shift pattern is subject to cahnge as determined by the Clinical Nutrition Director (May tele-work)

    • 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Mon-Fri)

    *Minimum of 6 months with option to extend

    Responsibilities

    • Develops nutritional care plans in order to ensure individual patient nutritional needs are met.
    • Completes follow-up to patient care plans as established in the Nutrition Care Plan in order to meet The Joint Commission and other regulatory requirements.
    • Create nutrition plans to improve the health and physical conditions of patients.
    • Analyzes the patients' health status, goals, and dietary restrictions, tracks the patient's dietary intake and progress and educating patients on how to maintain a balanced diet.
    • Consults to patients, families, and treatment team regarding nutrition needs
    • Writes appropriate nutrition related recommendations in the medical record
    • Approves patients' menus and provides this information to the Food Services Director

    LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

    • Graduation from an accredited college or university with BS in Dietetics and or Nutrition
    • Must be Registered Dietician (RD) with the National Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics
    • Licensed Dietitian (LD) by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation
    • Possess valid Texas driver's license

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

    • Minimum of 2 years clinical experience as a Dietician
    • Must possess excellent verbal and written skills necessary to communicate with Physicians, staff, patients', and patients' family
    • American Heart Association Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification and Heimlich and the ability to perform these techniques correctly and safely according to the specifications of the American Heart Association.
