    Job Title: Project Manager
    Place of Performance: Albany, NY (Hybrid – up to 50% telecommuting)
    Minimum Experience: 84 Months
    Rate: $51/hr - $63/hr (Final offer will depend on experience)
    Employment Type: Contract

    Position Overview:

    We're looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead large, complex IT projects for a public sector client. You'll work with executive teams, vendors, and technical groups to deliver multimillion-dollar projects on time and within budget. This role requires excellent leadership, planning, and communication skills to manage multiple moving parts and ensure project success.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Work with executives, business units, and IT teams to define the project's goals, scope, timelines, and resources.

    • Lead day-to-day project activities and coordinate across multiple teams.

    • Create and manage detailed project plans, including risks, dependencies, and backup strategies.

    • Maintain clear documentation and ensure all project standards are followed.

    • Track project milestones and deliverables using tools like Microsoft Project.

    • Assign tasks, keep stakeholders engaged, and hold teams accountable.

    • Support change management and business process improvement efforts.

    • Manage the project budget and ensure financial tracking and compliance.

    • Run regular team meetings, scrums, and leadership briefings to monitor progress and address issues.

    • Prepare and present project status updates to executives and other stakeholders.

    Qualifications:

    • At least 7 years of experience managing large, complex IT projects for U.S. government agencies, including projects with budgets over $500K, multiple funding sources, and third-party vendor coordination.

    • At least 7 years of experience creating and managing project plans covering all key areas like scope, schedule, cost, risk, and communications—from start to finish.

    • At least 7 years of experience using project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project) to build, track, and update schedules in Waterfall, Agile, or Hybrid environments.

    • At least 7 years of experience writing detailed scope documents, reviewing project deliverables, managing change requests, and leading the approval process.

    • At least 7 years of experience managing project quality—including planning, testing, UAT, defect tracking, and reporting metrics.

    • At least 4 years of experience managing COTS software implementations and/or custom software development (SDLC) projects.

    • Must hold both the Project Management Professional (PMP) and PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) certifications.
