Job summary
This position will provide scoping, estimating, and conceptual design services in support of Southern Company's substation civil-site development.The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting transmission capital projects through complete and accurate cost estimates, substation site selection feedback,
and providing project scope recommendations.
Work Location & Travel: This position will be based out of The Energy Center in Birmingham, AL., POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Create a safe and ethical work environment through total personal commitment to safety excellence
Apply civil engineering expertise to accurately \"scope\" projects and to provide quality cost and duration estimates in a timely fashion
, POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education BS Degree in Engineering (Civil preferred) or applicable degree and experience Professional Engineering (PE) license is a plus Experience with Civil Site Development preferred Experience working with Operating Company personnel is a plus Demonstrated leadership on projects involving multiple work groups and departments Knowledge Skills Abilities Ability to successfully implement and lead safe work behaviors in the workplace Proven ability to establish maintain peer customer relationships across organizational lines , valid_job
