- Stay abreast of legal and Executive Branch limited English proficiency (LEP) policy developments and formulate plans/policies/procedures to incorporate LEP legal and policy developments into the Department's Language Assistance Plan (DOE-LAP).
- Assist leadership in creating and convening the Language Access Working Group (LAWG) to establish and coordinate the implementation of a DOE comprehensive plan to address the language access needs of LEP communities.
- Provide training and technical assistance to DOE employees related to the requirements of Executive Order 13166 and the DOE-LAP.
- Create and maintain training materials, job aids, etc. regarding accessing and providing language services.
- Prepare model policies and procedures for language data collection, reporting, and analysis on language assistance needs, delivery of services, and outcomes.
- Serve as an expert advisor and consultant across organizational lines to other civil rights professionals, Program and Staff offices, procurement and grant award staff, and DOE leadership related to the DOE-LAP, LEP, and complex legal questions related to Title VI.
