GBC Apprenticeship Program Outline
Objective:
To procure, develop, and retain educated, talented, and highly motivated individuals to be the next level of producers and/or leaders throughout the Bank.
Target:
College or recent college graduates from Indiana colleges or universities with a bachelor's degree in business, finance or accounting who are interested in pursuing a career in banking. The goal of the program will be to provide these individuals with exposure to various aspects of banking via a rotational program with heavy emphasis on lending. The goal is to develop individuals into Bankers (lending, credit, retail, wealth management or operations). Throughout their rotation, these individuals will be learning new roles while also providing production assistance to the current teams. This is a comprehensive "on the job" training program, with a goal of long-term career placement.

- Deposit Operations (including Treasury Management & Merchant Services)
- Marketing
- Wealth Management
- Residential & Consumer Lending
- Loan Servicing
- Loan Processing
- Credit Analysis
- Commercial Lending
- Risk/Compiance/Audit (including branch audits throughout the year)
- Accounting
- Possible Permanent Job Placement

Other notable items:
- Various IBA/ABA training classes to attend (including IBA's Essentials of Banking)
- Marketing project(s)
- Other projects to be assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.
- Recent Bachelor's Degree in business, finance or accounting.
- Advanced computer and typing skills.
- Skilled in Microsoft Suite (particularly Excel).
- Detail oriented and ability to carry out tasks at a high rate of accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Self-starter; ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to multi-task and handle last minute demands.
- Works well under pressure and deadlines.
- Shows willingness and adaptability to work outside normal schedule, on occasion.
- Team Player.
- Exhibits professional behavior, appearance, and attitude at all times.
- Strong customer service skills (speech, grammar, energy, etc.).
- Current driver's license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.
