    Description

    Job Description – Hydraulic Systems Engineer

    FLSA Status: Exempt

    Reports to: General Manger

    Purpose and Scope

    To grow Hydraulic product applications by promoting, designing and developing components and systems applications that integrate available technologies involving electro-hydraulic products, PLC's, motion controllers, electronic controls and the like as needed to grow our sales.

    Essential Functions

    Work closely with our field sales representatives to identify opportunities and support them in closing sales for hydraulic products. Design, integrate and quote system solutions. Identify and sell turnkey hydraulic systems utilizing internal resources and/or integrator partners. Provide technical training that supports the continuous improvement of skills and technical resources needed to support the expansion of the hydraulic business. Build and maintain a strong working relationship with our hydraulic vendors. Identify hydraulic products, services and system enhancements that will expand the group offering.

    Other Duties

    Provide quotation back up for our Systems business segment. Work with field sales and the sales management team to identify target hydraulic prospects. Develop products that can be marketed that are unique to Wilson Company. Support the development of marketing materials and plans to expand sales. Provide inventory recommendations and product line pricing recommendations. Provides billable support to customers in the field.

    Knowledge and Skills

    · Is a clear and effective communicator.

    · Has 6-10 years of experience working with hydraulic and electronic products.

    · Is capable of designing complex system and component selections.

    · Strong business process foundation that can be leveraged to document customer cost savings.

    · Has excellent training and presentation skills.

    · Develop and maintain customer specifications.

    · Experience and knowledge conducting System testing internally and for customer acceptance.

    · Develop Testing procedures.

    · Is experienced with a broad range of software applications related to designing and programming electrical and mechanical systems.

    · Has a good working knowledge of AUTOCAD.

    · Works well under stress.

    Public Contact

    Works directly with field sales calling on customers and prospects in the field. Provides on site technical support for complex field installations. Maintains an office in Addison or Houston (depending on the specific assignment).

    Working conditions and environment

    Most of the work is completed in our shop or in a business office environment. However, the position does include on-site work on a manufacturing floor in the field. Furthermore, it will include working in any other design and assembly areas necessary to complete the functions of the position.

    Educational & Experience Requirements

    · Six or more years working in a similar capacity.

    · A four- year technical or college degree is required.

    · Will be required to successfully complete the Parker Hydraulic Systems Engineer program.
