    Job Summary:



    The primary responsibility of this pharmacist position is to provide services related to the operations of the CU Research Pharmacy (CURP) of the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences on the Anschutz Medical Campus. A general description of the services to be provided by the CURP is found here: . This position provides pharmacist services to ensure the smooth and efficient operations of the CURP. This position will also be responsible for providing quality customer service and ensuring compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations along with applicable practice and administration standards. This position will also be responsible for helping to supervise pharmacy technicians within the CURP and assist in various clinical and academic projects. In addition, the CURP also serves as an educational training site for pharmacy students and this position is involved in training and supervision of pharmacy students engaged in academic rotations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • In collaboration with wither pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in developing, implementing, and performing high-quality and accurate pharmacy practices needed for efficient and profitable operations of the CURP, including:
      • Follows established standards of practice regarding receipt, storage, temperature monitoring, dispensing, and disposal of study drugs;
      • Reviews study documents and prepares summaries for staff training;
      • Provides staff training on assigned protocols
      • Engages in communication (email, phone, in-person) to prepare for dispensing of a new study drug
    • Builds and maintains high quality professional and business relations with co-workers, clinical affiliations, vendors, clinical researchers, study teams, research sponsors, and other clients and constituents;
    • Exercises knowledge of contemporary pharmacy practice and regulatory standards in order to operate a research pharmacy which is fully compliant with applicable licensing, regulatory (local, State, and Federal), and product preparation and dispensing requirements for investigational drug units;
    • Participates in the compounding of sterile and non-sterile drugs in compliance with existing policies related to USP 795, 797, and 800;
    • Participates in assigning and overseeing work of pharmacy technicians involved in day-to-day operations of the pharmacy, as well as the education and mentoring of student pharmacists on rotation in the CURP;
    • Utilizes business and practice knowledge and experience to operate computer software products and other equipment needed for efficient and profitable operations of the CURP;
    • Demonstrates fiscal responsibility in the performance of job duties and operations of the CURP.

    Qualifications:



    Minimum Qualifications:

    Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

    • Bachelor's degree in pharmacy or a PharmD degree
    • Licensure as a registered pharmacist in the State of Colorado.
    • Previous experience in pharmacy operations

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Knowledge and previous experience related to investigational drug products and investigational trials
    • Experience with compounding (sterile and/or non-sterile)

    Anticipated Pay Range:



    The starting salary range (or hiring range ) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

    $100,000 – $130,000

    The above salary range (or hiring range ) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
