Description
Overview:
OHC is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) team.
The APP will provide comprehensive care to patients undergoing bone marrow transplantation and will work in close collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
The APP will have at least two (2) years of experience and be well versed in the care of adult blook and bone marrow transplantation(allogenic and autologous), CAR T-cell, and other immunotherapies to join their multi-disciplinary team on the inpatient and outpatient services.
As the only independent adult cancer program in the region, we offer Medical, Radiation, Blood and Marrow Transplant, Gynecologic, and Breast Surgical Oncology services.
In this role, you will represent our practice and focus on building ongoing partnerships with local healthcare organizations and physicians of all specialties to help increase new patient referrals.
You will need a basic understanding of regional business conditions relating to the industry, competition, and relevant business trends while identifying future growth opportunities for new services.

Responsibilities:
Obtain medical history, perform physical examinations, review and order diagnostic studies, radiographs and prescribe treatments.
Admission and discharges
APPs perform bone marrow aspirations, lumbar punctures, skin punch biopsies, Ommaya access and bone marrow harvests and provide follow-up care of bone marrow donors under the supervision of attending physician.
Follows and manages patients in collaboration with MD enhancing continuity of care
Collaborates with staff and physicians to facilitate a comprehensive plan of care and coordinate resources and write appropriate orders improving access to care, establishing goals for the delivery of care to patients, participating in clinical research, and managing communications between physicians, patients, family, and staff.
Maintains and practices in accord with practice guidelines per state and hospital regulations.
Provides consultation to both nurses and physicians and serves as a resource to staff in area(s) of expertise.
Serves on appropriate intra- and inter-departmental committees.
Supports and conducts research efforts to advance knowledge and to promote research-based practice.
Serves as subject matter expert to the community, providing education and resources as needed
Likely to supervise the activities of clinical nursing and support staff.
May serve in practice or network-wide APP leadership role
May precept APP students
Mentors new advanced practice providers.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.
RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
