    Insight Global is seeking a TS or TS/SCI Senior Linux Engineer/ Systems Engineer in the San Diego, CA area. Looking for an engineer who enjoys working in a collegial but fast-paced environment dedicated to producing quality products.

    Qualified individuals must be self-motivated and able to work independently, but still function effectively as part of a larger integrated team.

    Strong writing and communication skills are preferred.


    The ideal candidate will assist in building, maintaining and developing in a lab dedicated to testing and integrating new systems into existing architecture/systems and assisting with their deployment.

    This lab will primarily use Red-Hat Linux and Linux related products but other capabilities will be integrated as the lab grows.

    Growth will likely include working in virtual environments using VMWare and KVM, Dockers/Kubernetes, and AWS. They will also assist in the design of the architecture and assist in defining the lab roadmap.

    This lab will have tight coupling with LAN and WAN management and operation using connected network hierarchy (no wireless) with the goal of seamless end-to-end coordination.


    Responsibilities include:
    Manage, design, install, and assist in acceptance testing of hardware and software

    Assist in producing and documenting the configuration of capabilities and systems

    Support the lab personnel in configuring all computer and network equipment

    Provide computer engineering support for the cybersecurity engineer

    Provide computer engineering support to the integration and test engineer

    Troubleshoot lab hardware and software as needed

    Potentially be available for call-in support during live test scenarios

    Potentially assist with integration into an operational environment

    may require travel

    Sustain the system

    Stay up to date on industry trends and technologies

    Knowledge of Navy operations and process

    Working knowledge of GitHub/GitLab

    Working knowledge of standard data interchange formats (JSON, XML, etc.) and how they work

    Working knowledge of SQL databases

    Familiarity with the Zabbix monitoring tool

    Familiarity with Agile development process

    Familiarity with AWS and the AWS Snow family of products

    Familiarity with Container Orchestration (docker, Kubernetes, etc.)

    Familiarity with how the DevOps and CI/CD pipeline process work

    Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology (or equivalent)
    Active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to pass a CI poly

    4 years' experience Red Hat Linux administration at a configuration/integration

    There will be minimal user administration

    4 years' experience with programming

    Bash/Linux scripting, Python, PHP, Java

    Working knowledge of Virtualization (KVM, VMWare)

    Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Visio

    Working knowledge of Microsoft Server

    Working knowledge of the 7 Layer networking model and its implementation

    Only IPv4 will be used in the lab

    Familiarity with Cisco hardware

    Ability to adapt and work independently
