**Position title:** Paid Childcare Worker in local, faith-based non-profit (2-4 positions available)
**Pay:** $10.00/hour (2 hours each week on Thursday mornings: 9:45-11:45)
**Department:** Educational Services
**Reports to:** Educational Services Manager
**Basic Function of position:** Our childcare workers have the best job in the building loving and caring for the babies, toddlers, and preschoolers of our clients while they participate in programs and services to help them move toward abundant life.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Check children in and out of childcare
Foster a sense of hospitality and create a welcoming environment for children and their moms
Set up and clean the childcare area
Supervise children in our childcare area
Playing and interacting with children ages five and under
Serving snacks (provided)
Holding, soothing, and feeding babies and toddlers
Changing diapers and assisting with bathroom breaks
**Motivated childcare workers may take initiative to plan activities for the children such as story time, music, games, learning activities, Bible lessons, and more This is great material for a resume.**
**Important note:** Childcare workers are never alone with children. There will always be at least two workers in the childcare area.
Qualifications
Love for children
Comfortable caring for infants, toddlers and preschoolers
Ability to stay calm when children are not
Willingness to ask for help from staff when needed
Physical demands
Ability to spend time on the floor and moving around the room while interacting with children
Ability to lift, hold, or carry children ages five and under
