    System Data SpecialistLocation: Columbus, OH(Locals only)

    Complete Description:
    This position will function as a highly skilled SS1 for updating historic bridge data within AssetWise Bridge Database


    Specific responsibilities include:
    Serve as the historic bridge-data Quality Control subject matter expert for the Department's Historic Bridge Portal project.

    Evaluate and compare data and GIS locations between ODOT's Transportation Information Mapping System (TIMS) and ODOT's Bridge Inspection and Inventory data collection application (AssetWise) and historic bridge data including SHPO GIS mapping system.

    Make data corrections in AssetWise; asset-level inventory updates and bulk-updates.
    Establish and implement QA/QC processes to ensure accuracy of historic bridge data in AssetWise and Ellis.

    Structure File Numbers (SFN) will need to be established for approximately 150 off-system bridges (work with OSE).Work with appropriate ODOT staff to update TIMS to create a user-friendly interface with searchable SFN.Manage collected data associated with historic bridges, photo imaging, files and documents.

    Ensure all completed Management Plans fields are completed if applicable.
    General QA/QC tasks as assigned.


    Experience:
    Excellent PC skills.
    Able to follow written and spoken instructionsAbility to accurately analyze, enter and manage data ex. Microsoft Excel.
    Ability to accurately enter information into a computer, accessing information from a computer, and verifying information on a screen.
    Duties involve utilizing automated equipment, including electronic keyboard, display screen, camera, and sorted memoryAbility to operate and understand basic scanning and imaging equipment, including pan, skew, and image correction techniquesAbility to conduct data mining and data capture effortsKeypunch and verify records in specified format (ex. ASCII)


    The contractor must complete all data forms within an agreed-upon amount of time from receipt or average a minimum of a set number of strokes each week data forms are in possessionError rate cannot exceed 1/2%.

    Error rate is calculated on a character (not field or record) basisKnowledge of imaging and visual display operating practices, procedures, and techniquesKnowledge of arithmetic and numbering systemsRequired Skills:2 plus-years' experience Data Entry2 plus-years' experience Data Management
