The Seeker Subsystem Chief Engineer serves as the accountable technical authority for the interceptor seeker with end-to-end responsibility spanning requirements definition architecture detailed design integration test and verification and validation.This role ensures full traceability from Missile Defense mission-level objectives through seeker subsystem requirements design implementation and verified performance acts as the final arbiter for seeker technical decisions risk acceptance and compliance evidence leads the development and maturation of seeker architectures across three distinct topologies ensuring consistent performance interface compatibility and design coherence across variants drives informed trade studies to balance mission performance robustness to countermeasures operational environments SWaP-C constraints producibility cost defines controls seeker interfaces with guidance navigation control avionics structures thermal propulsion algorithm teams ensures effective sensor–algorithm co-design seamless integration into broader interceptor system supports end-to-end kill chain performance assessments by providing seek specific performance characterizations sensitivities risk drivers ensures alignment between seek behavior overall engagement objectives ownership of seek verification validation strategy encompasses component level testing subsystem environmental qualification hardware- software-in-loop testing captive carry flight test defines verification methods success criteria data products required close seek requirements leads anomaly resolution root cause analysis certifies tech sufficiency seek test evidence provides tech governance seek subsystem establishing maintaining tech baselines managing margins margins reserves leading reviews readiness assessments certifications represents seeks seeks position in program customer partner forums ensures consistent disciplined execution internal teams external suppliers finally lead mentors multidisciplinary seekers engineering teams setting standards rigour discipline review quality fosters culture accountability engineering excellence mission focus ensuring that seekers are delivered performancrobustness credibility required support Missile Defense operational success.
