    Default job background
    Description
    About the Role

Stacksphere helps small-to-midsize business owners and decision makers save time by delivering deeply-researched content on critical software needs, allowing them to spend time doing what they do best. We're thinking bigger and better about how to tackle the B2B Tech opportunity, and we're connecting tech buyers with software vendors more efficiently.

We are seeking a talented Principal Writer to join our team. The Principal Writer will be responsible for researching software on behalf of our customers, developing a deep understanding of the products and services available, conducting expert interviews and surveys to gain invaluable user insights and ultimately producing high-quality content that helps our customers make the best software choice for their business needs. The ideal candidate will have strong problem solving skills, exceptional research skills, and the ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear and engaging manner.

This is not your typical Principal Writer position. We are looking for someone that enjoys a challenge, wants to collaborate with cross-functional leaders, and is passionate about creating the very best content for business leaders. If that's you, we welcome your application.

The role is based in Charlotte, NC with a hybrid office requirement (2 days per week in our South Park office, 3 days remote).

    Your Day-to-Day
    • Synthesize complex information into clear, concise, and engaging written content, including articles, guides, whitepapers, and product reviews.
    • Develop comprehensive buyers' guides, comparison articles, and decision-making resources to help businesses evaluate and select the right technology solutions.
    • Conduct in-depth research on B2B software and services across various categories, such as CRM, HR systems, project management tools, and accounting software.
    • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, market developments, and emerging technologies relevant to small-to-mid size businesses.
    • Collaborate with subject matter experts, industry professionals, and internal stakeholders to gather insights and validate findings, including creating and executing surveys.
    • Assess existing competitor content to identify opportunities for our content to create unique value for readers.
    • Ensure all content is accurate, well-researched, and aligned with our brand voice, style guidelines, and SEO best practices.
    • Work closely with the editorial team to brainstorm ideas, plan content calendars, and contribute to overall content strategy.
    • Monitor content performance metrics and user feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
    About You
    • Bachelor's degree in English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Communications, or related field preferred.
    • Proven expertise with 8+ years experience as a writer within a digital landscape. B2B or tech experience is preferred but not required.
    • Excellent research skills with the ability to gather, analyze, and synthesize complex information from multiple sources. We are seeking someone with experience owning qualitative research processes end-to-end including surveys, interviews, and demos.
    • Exceptional writing skills with a keen eye for detail, grammar, and style.
    • Experience with SEO best practices and content optimization techniques.
    • Problem solving and agility. You thrive in an environment where there is no playbook for success. You can adapt to different tasks and shift priorities as needed. You have an entrepreneurial spirit and are energized by helping to build a brand new team.
    • An inherent drive to be excellent: You are not satisfied with average. You are enthusiastic and committed to do whatever it takes to get the job done at a world-class level.
    • Insatiably curious: An investigative journalist at heart that is committed to getting to the bottom of things and learning as much about a topic as possible to inform your perspective.
