POSITION SUMMARY
The Procurement Director of New Product Introduction is responsible for overseeing the sourcing, procurement, and supply chain activities related to "Off the Shelf" and manufactured goods in the automotive sector.
This individual will be responsible for executing procurement process for materials and services both domestically and internationally. This includes all Direct Materials for RealTruck. Must have experienced purchasing of manufactured and packaged finished goods, importing for resale. Automotive aftermarket sector a plus. Evaluate and analyze category trends; manage supply risk and minimize total costs. This includes optimizing commodity strategies, currencies, and landed cost.
Collaborate cross functionally to understand and determine supply needs and product development / engineering and evaluation requirements to select the best suppliers and distributors.
CORE FUNCTIONS
Lead the development and implementation of purchasing strategies and processes with the key objectives of best-in-class quality product, on-time delivery, and competitive pricing to achieve overall optimized cost for the business.
Support the Continuous Improvement Process / Design to Value (CIP/DTV) involving purchase parts and materials, ensuring fast response to/from engineering.
Present supplier performance information to top management, functional teams, and all THI Brands.
Interview vendors and visit suppliers to learn about new products and services.
Negotiate supplier contracts and settle disputes on behalf of RealTruck.
Drive training and development opportunities for the procurement staff.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree required; Master of Business Administration preferred.
8+ years of manufacturing experience required.
3+ years of experience leading a team required.
Required Licenses
Purchasing Certification preferred but not required.
Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge
Skilled in Microsoft Office, knowledge of database software, order processing systems, manufacturing software, spreadsheets, quality, and word processing.
Ability to write, speak and comprehend English.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Travel
Travel will be required, ranging from 25% to 40%.
