Job Description

A manufacturing company is seeking a Janitor to perform routine cleanliness and maintenance functions throughout the plant, facility, and grounds, including sweeping, cleaning, and scrubbing shop floors to reduce and/or eliminate potential safety hazards, and handling general housekeeping tasks to ensure proper upkeep and maintenance of health and safety standards.

Work hours are Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.


Responsibilities:
Review, complete, and log assigned work from the maintenance software program
Safely operate floor sweeper/scrubber and use brooms and vacuums to clean, wash, and scrub facility floors, and reduce/eliminate slippery and/or dirty surfaces to maintain a safe and clean environment
Properly handle and dispose of hazardous chemicals according to specified safety protocols
Ensure restrooms are always clean and ready for use, including cleaning the toilets, urinals, sinks and floors, and replacing trash liners and refilling dispensers, as needed
Use pressure washers, buffers, vacuums, auto scrubbers, ladders, squeegees, and a variety of cleaning supplies
Unclog toilets, clean out refrigerators, and empty trash receptacles as requested
Sweep parking lots, pick up trash, remove snow and spread salt on the exterior grounds of the facility, weed removal, and pressure washing the parking lot, and building exterior
Promote positive team member and customer relations by supporting the company's commitment to a working environment of tolerance, acceptance, and civility
Respond appropriately to inquiries, concerns, and complaints by being professional, courteous, and respectful at all times
Maintain regular, consistent, reliable, punctual, and predictable attendance

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
Must have a High School Diploma or GED, Test Assessing Secondary Completion, or equivalent combination of education and experience
One-year janitorial experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred; Ability to obtain and maintain a forklift certification
Must have the ability to operate tow motor and floor scrubber/sweeper, perform minor structural repairs, special maintenance projects, basic cleaning tasks, and general maintenance tasks
The use of a variety of tools and equipment such as pressure washers, buffers, vacuums, auto scrubbers, ladders, squeegees, snowblower and pressure washer is needed
Must be able to positively interact and work collaboratively with a diverse group of people at all levels of the organization
Must be a genuine individual with high ethical standards, values, personal integrity, and honesty with the ability to apply a large measure of common sense to a variety of situations
The ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, listen and obtain clarification, and respond well to questions is required
Must have basic computer skills, record and enter electronic requests, statuses, and resolutions in computer system
Must exercise sound judgement and discretion in handling proprietary and confidential information
Must have the ability to work independently, have sound judgment, pay keen attention to detail, and be accurate
Must have strong time management, organizational skills, self-motivated, and able to complete tasks successfully under little or no supervision.
Must have a demonstrated commitment to own personal professional development and learning

Must be comfortable standing and walking for long periods of time, able to kneel, crouch, and bend, occasionally climb stairs, lift or carry up to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 75 lbs.
