    JOB TITLE:

    Exciting opportunity as a UW Libraries/English Department Graduate Intern!

    JOB PURPOSE:

    Join the University Libraries and English Department for a part-time graduate internship in the Research & Instruction unit. Dive into offering instructional programming for undergraduate students, prioritizing first-year writing and University Studies courses. Collaborate with R&I librarians to mentor Library Coaches and create engaging research-related outreach materials.

    This role will report to the chair of Research & Instruction.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assist in scheduling and planning ENGL 1010 class sections for library instruction
    • Contribute to the development of lesson plans and learning objects
    • Mentor undergraduate Library Coaches for student support
    • Help create resources around Generative AI in an academic setting
    • Lead workshops for students on various topics
    • Create marketing materials for social media on relevant research topics

    ADDITIONAL BENEFITS:

    Aside from supporting first-year researchers, the intern will work on projects with R&I librarians, gaining experience in Open Access, Media, and more. You'll also mentor undergraduate students in the Library Coach program.

    REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:

    This position requires the candidate to be available for on-campus work.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Current enrollment in the UW English program
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Passion for supporting undergraduate student learning

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Experience with library research and resources
    • Background in teaching or training
