- Perform truck repair and maintenance work in accordance with factory and industry standards.
- Run diagnostics to look for and identify equipment issues on tractors and trailers that could cause a safety issue or equipment failure.
- Focused on time units and getting routine maintenance done within the allotted time frame.
- Maintain tractors and trailers to Reliable Carriers and Federal CSA standards.
- Maintain a safe work environment.
- Work closely with other team members to meet company goals.
- SAE or Michigan state certification is a plus.
- Ability to work in a very fast-paced environment with high-pressure situations, ability to effectively deal with both drivers and co-workers in a diplomatic way.
- Must have prior technical experience in heavy-duty truck repair and fabrication.
- Must be willing to learn and help drive new efficiencies in the process.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must have a valid U.S. driver's license and the legal right to work in the U.S.
- Must pass an initial background and drug test.
- Must speak fluent English.
- Must have basic hand tools and a toolbox or mobile cabinet.
- Prior truck repair or heavy-duty maintenance experience required.
- The ideal candidate will have 2- 5 years of experience with a tractor or trailer dealer or heavy repair shop.
- Industry technical certifications a plus.
- This individual should be clean, well organized, and prompt.
- This individual should have some computer skills.
- Good communication skills (oral and written).
- Ability to work independently without direction and to get the job done.
