    Job DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARYThe Licensed Dental Hygienists examines and educates patients for signs of oral diseases, such as gingivitis, and provides preventive care, including oral hygiene.

    The Licensed Dental Hygienists also takes quality x-rays and intro oral photos, perform oral prophylaxis, polish, and scaling, maintain and complete documentation and communication of clinical findings, maintain inventory of supplies and maintenance, provide patient education and home care instructions and nutrition, maintain hygiene recall and communication with patients, support the doctor in treatment planning, ensure an excellent patient experience.


    QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION:
    High school diploma or GED certificate. CODA-Accredited completion of Dental Hygiene Program. National Board Dental Hygiene Examination, Commission on Dental Competency Assessments Examination.

    Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing sufficient to perform the essential functions; read, understand, and apply policies and guidelines; obtain information from a variety of sources is required.

    Bilingual preferred.


    LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
    Licensed Dental Hygienists by NJ State Division of Consumer Affairs. Permit for the Administration of Local Anesthesia.

    Nitrous monitoring and BLS required within 6months of hireEXPERIENCE: 1-3 years dental hygienists experience required. Knowledge of medical and dental terminology preferred.

    Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.

    PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONSDemonstrates the competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool for this position.
    WORK ENVIRONMENTPotential for exposure to blood borne pathogens along with infectious diseases. (Refers to Blood Bourne Pathogen requirement) Essential functions of this position are listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.
