    Description

    Position Objective: This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience that will help you develop essential knowledge, skills, and relationships for a successful career as a regional sales agronomist or in other cooperative roles.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Scout for weeds, insects, and nutrient deficiencies, and collect soil and tissue samples.
    • Shadow the sales process, including pre-call planning, service, and follow-up.
    • Work alongside precision specialists to deepen your understanding of mapping, prescriptions, and other agronomic tools.
    • Complete a summer project that will culminate in a presentation of your findings.
    • Attend intern training sessions, vendor product meetings, and plot days to enhance your learning.
    • Shadow agronomy operations to gain insight into daily practices and procedures.
    • Understand and follow company-specific agronomy SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
    • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, performing tasks in a safe manner while complying with traffic laws and OSHA regulations.
    • Represent yourself and the company professionally at all times, both in actions and appearance.
    • Make informed decisions and follow instructions with minimal supervision.
    • Perform any additional duties as requested by your supervisor or management.

    Desired Skills and Competencies:

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • A collaborative approach to grower service.
    • Adaptability in a changing environment.
    • A positive attitude and a service-minded approach.

    Licensing, Certification, and Qualification:

    • Ability to obtain a 4-wheeler safety certification, with assistance from the company.
    • A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
