    The Accounting Manager is responsible for leading the Accounting team and maintaining the organization's general ledger.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • Manages Accounting team staff who are responsible for financial reporting, billing, collections, payroll, and budget preparation.
    • Recruits and hires accounting and financial staff and conducts performance evaluations.
    • Coordinates training programs for new staff and identifies training needs for current staff.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Contract management and reporting; grants and counties
    • Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.
    • Oversees preparation of business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets.
    • Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
    • Coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audit.
    • Produce billings and apply cash receipts for various services provided by Life'sWork
    • Processes month end close journal entries
    • Review Staff Accountant's journal entries and reconciliations
    • Manage audit requests for the annual fiscal and retirement plan audits
    • Support CFO with preparation of the organization's annual budget
    • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
    • Other duties as assigned
