    Description

    Position: Survey Crew Chief

    Location: Nashville, TN

    Duration: Full-time

    Salary: $26-35/hr DOE

    Job Description:

    The Survey Crew Chief is responsible for providing surveying field support for various types of land surveying projects. This role ensures the accuracy of fieldwork and supervises a field crew. Responsibilities include performing field calculations, operating survey equipment, taking field notes and sketches, maintaining crew vehicles, following safety procedures, and other tasks to complete complex land surveying projects, including potential out-of-town assignments.

    Responsibilities:

    • Work in the field on land surveys such as control, boundary, topographic, and construction layouts
    • Collect survey data according to industry standards and client requirements
    • Process data daily and oversee the survey crew
    • Coordinate with field and project managers, and other team members as necessary
    • Willingness to learn new techniques, processes, and equipment
    • Conduct office tasks like data reduction, calculations, and staking computations
    • Perform additional duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

    • Valid driving license
    • Years of surveying experience as a Crew Chief, especially in DOT or Boundary Surveying
    • Familiarity with GPS, total stations, and data collectors
    • Ability to work independently

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Associate degree or higher in surveying or equivalent
    • Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, Inroads, Open Roads Designer, and Trimble Business Center Software
    • Experience with scanning and drone flights
    • FAA Part 107 certification
