This is a grant funded position.Position OverviewThe Spectrum of Care (SOC) Curriculum Coordinator is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the SOC-integrated curriculum within the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program. This position requires expertise in educational program development, assessment strategies, and competency-based veterinary education.The Coordinator will collaborate with faculty clinicians and administrators to ensure that the SOC curriculum aligns with best practices in instructional design and assessment while preparing students to deliver client-centered cost-sensitive resource-appropriate veterinary care.
The role requires independent decision-making leadership in program development assessment and faculty collaboration with minimal oversight.Key ResponsibilitiesCurriculum Development & IntegrationLead programmatic revisions to align with competency-based education standards develop new case-based learning modules skill-building activitiesand assessment tools.Provide expert consultation to faculty on curriculum design teaching methodologies evaluation frameworks. Develop maintain reference materials instructional guides evaluation rubrics for implementing SOC-focused coursework.Define standardize benchmarks proficiency measures assess student achievement competency development.ASSESSMENT & PROGRAM EVALUATIONImplement programmaticassessment strategies ensure student progress aligns learning objectives accreditation requirements.Develop learner assessments milestone markers structured evaluations track competency development across different curriculum stages.Lead data collection analysis reporting efforts measure effectiveness integration within DVM curriculums.Collaborate faculty leadership teams make data-driven recommendations curriculum improvements expansion.FACULTY DEVELOPMENT STUDENT ENGAGEMENTServe primary liaison between faculty clinicians students ensure consistent high-quality learning experience.Develop lead training workshops focused on curriculum design student assessement competence based veterinary educationProvide guidance practice management communication strategies related societally appropriate animal care.SUPPORT FACULTY DESIGNING IMPLEMENTING NEW SOCBASED ROTATIONS CLERKSHIPSincluding rural medicine shelter medicine community based experiences.STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENTOversee large-scalecurriculum projects ensuring alignment College Veterinary Medicine goals accreditation standards.Stay current emerging trends veterinary education scholarship inform improvements committees working groups collaborative initiatives expand spectrum principles throughout framework.
