Job Description

The primary goal of the Staff Accountant is to handle various accounting functions such as Accounts Payable following standard procedures set by the Accounting & Finance Department. The Staff Accountant plays a key role in supporting financial operations and providing top-notch service to CSP's personnel, customers, vendors, and the public.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Completion of a BA degree or higher with a minimum of 3 years' accounting experience
Familiarity with GAAP, General Ledger, and reconciliation
Excellent communication and organizational abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Experience with QuickBooks
Thorough understanding of accounting systems and controls
Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills
Capability to work effectively under pressure
Ability to maintain confidentiality

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct regular reconciliations of Balance Sheet accounts and resolve reconciliation issues promptly
Assist in the monthly financial system closing process, including journal entries
Ensure that accounts payable transactions adhere to GAAP standards
Support in responding to external auditor requests and maintaining audit-ready documentation
Organize incoming invoices and statements
Input invoices into QuickBooks and allocate expenses correctly
Set up vendor information in QuickBooks
Verify vendor statements and track missing invoices and payments
Assist in processing weekly check runs with proper documentation
Collaborate with department managers on A/P and accounting matters
Support additional projects and tasks as needed
Complete tasks accurately, efficiently, and on time
