The Graduate Nurse (GN) is a professional caregiver who, as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and who supervises and provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process including the therapeutic use of self.

The GN holds a temporary emergency RN license and shall be eligible to work only under supervision in an acute care facility licensed by the New Jersey Department of Health.

Such supervision may be in the form of a preceptor relationship.
Follows established policies and procedures.

Provides excellent customer service interfacing well with all levels of staff, management, and physicians.
Direct or supervise other healthcare staff.
Make assignments for other staff.

The Graduate Nurse will have successfully completed his/her nursing school. Previous inpatient experience as a Nurse Associate/Patient Care Technician preferred.
Graduate of NLN accredited School of Nursing
Current American Heart Association BLS Certification (Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers).
