Description

THE ROLE:
In this role, you will handle everything including our AGV that moves cars, the automated systems that interact with it, and designing the rest of the garage of the future.
To accomplish this, you will need to:
Move the design of complex electromechanical systems, components, and products forward from concept to productionRoll up your sleeves to do some design, modeling, analysis, prototyping, and validation of mechanical components and manufacturing processesCollaborate with cross-functional teams (EE, SW, project and product managers) to integrate mechanical components into complete systems - ROBOTICS IS A TEAM SPORTWork closely with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure seamless transition from design to productionDon't forget the documentationOccasional travel required to supervise customer installations and wrangle vendors
YOU HAVE:
BS in mechanical engineering (or equivalent)Minimum 7-10 years designing and developing productsStrong proficiency in Solidworks, PDM, and simulation toolsSolid understanding of large steel structures, injection molding, casting, sheet metalMechatronics designHands on prototyping and testingAbility to perform, or at least interpret, structural analysisYou need to be a clear communicator, and that includes the documentation you generateExcited to come onsite to the office at least 3 days per weekMust love robots
NICE TO HAVE:
You have shipped a productFamiliarity with agency certs and testing (UL, IEC, ISO, CE)Some FEA ability, static/dynamic analysisFamiliarity with architectural engineering plans and related documentationLevel 4 (Advanced) on your Vendor Management skill treeDangerous hobbies a plusApplicant must provide proof of his or her eligibility to work in the United States if selected for hire.

The target base salary range for this position $ $180000 annually.
