    Description

    The first duty of this position is to handle bookkeeping and write-up services in connection with assigned clients of the firm.In the course of this job, you would be expected to enter data, reconcile bank statements, prepare proper financial statements and business tax returns, (both federal and state).Keep working files in proper order when the task for each client is completed.Maintaining the red folder for each client to make sure all legal documents are put into those files in an orderly fashion so that they will be available when needed.

    Preparation of payroll for clients who we offer that service to.This includes the preparation quarterly and year end of payroll reporting, 1099 reporting at year end, EFTPS payments for 941, 940 and TWC taxes after completing each payroll and maintaining proper files for each client to include timesheets, employee W-3s, client notification of changes in wages, etc.

    Assist in the preparation of personal income tax returns as assigned which include but is not limited to entering information into the tax program, reconciling the tax return, printing the return, identifying the client data that needs to be scanned and putting the finalized return in the box of the front-desk person for scanning and final processing. After the items are scanned, making sure that the scan procedure has been done properly and determining what data should be returned to the client and what data should remain in the file.

    Filing all files that you work on in their proper filing cabinet and area.

    Ordering checks for clients that are maintained by you.

    Act as a back-up for the front-office receptionist in his/her absence.Answer phones, transfer calls to proper individuals in the firm, their voicemail or take messages as needed.Maintain professional demeanor and appearance. Greet and direct clients as they come in for pick-up of items or to drop off or for appointment with staff.

    Primarily responsible for billing clients, making firm deposits, reviewing accounts receivable and sending statements to clients when needed.

    Other tasks as assigned.
