    Sr. AWS Specialist

    Administer, develop, test, or demonstrate databases. Perform many related database functions across one or more teams or clients, including designing, implementing and maintaining new AWS RDS databases, backup/recovery and configuration management. Maintain database management systems (DBMS) and provide input for modification of procedures and documentation used for problem resolution and day-to-day maintenance.

    • Develop solutions using cutting -edge AWS database technologies
    • Learns all aspects of AWS Databases and storage patterns to include, Relational Database Service (RDS), Dynamo, Amazon Aurora, MySql, etc
    • Conduct research on differing approaches to data storage in AWS
    • Knowledge of AWS Database Migration Service
    • Solve issues by designing, developing, testing, and deploying solutions
    • Maintains security and integrity controls
    • Formulates policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management
    • Monitors transaction activity and utilization along with system performance metrics to identify potential risks/ issues
    • Develops and enforces database administration and user standards and procedures; audits, modifies , and amends data in systems using
    • Work on indexing, replicating and performing disaster recovery services across multiple AWS regions.
    • Writing, designing, testing, implementing and maintaining database applications using SQL or other database programming languages
    • As part of an agile team, will be working closely with other agile team members and customers to implement a software system with multiple integration and backend services.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant work experience
    • Professional level certification a plus
    • 8-15 years of IT experience with a combination of:
      • Current hands-on working knowledge of AWS Databases such as RDS, Aurora, MySQL
      • Experience with AWS DynamoDB (preferred or NoSQL)
      • AWS Certified SysOps or Database Administrator Associate or Professional desired
      • Experience working in an Agile environment, familiar with JIRA or other story tracking tool
