    Job Description: Amazon is seeking a talented Program Coordinator to support the Economist Community Program (ECP). ECP supports the productivity and cohesion of Amazon growing Economist job family. This position reports to a Sr. Program Manager, and builds partnerships with with Economists across the company. The ideal candidate will be self-directed and have a proven track record of event planning and execution and project/program management.

    Primary Objectives:

    Drive event planning, coordination, and execution of the annual Economist Summit. A multi-day conference showcasing Amazon Economists' top internal projects, career panel discussions, and peer networking opportunities.
    1. Develop and ship SOP for end-to-end management of new Economist Apprenticeship Program.
    A pre-doctoral initiative that offers individuals with undergraduate or masters degrees who are interested in pursuing a PhD in Economics an opportunity to work in tech.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Events management:
    plan, execute, and manage all aspects of annual economist conference according to requirements (including budget), target audience, and objectives

    • Drive planning and steering committee meetings and agendas, track open action to completion, and manage overall project and event timelines.

    Support end-to-end operations and development of SOPs, resources, project plans and schedules.

    • Monitor and manage escalations, and communicate regularly with stakeholders on progress, risks/compliance, success metrics. etc.

    • Manage vendor relations and communication (including contract management and negotiations).

    • Provide some administrative support to project and
    event committees e.g. maintain distribution lists and committee e-mail inboxes, update wikis, schedule meetings, etc.
    • Generate suggestions from a customer obsessed mindset to improve event and project success.
    • Partner with Sr. PM and Economists to tackle intrinsically hard problems (e.g. ambiguous, with little to no existing structure, have significant business risk and/or potential for significant impact).

    Basic qualifications:

    • 1+ years experience in program or project management
    • 1+ years experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
    • Experience in managing or supporting coordination of events and conferences for 100+.

    Preferred qualifications

    • Experience managing multiple projects, and implementing new processes to improve program/project services and efficiencies.
    • Experience managing organization-wide initiatives defining project plans, assembling resources, managing implementation activities, and developing all processes associated with program roll-out and ongoing support
    • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
    • Experience working with an executive audience.
