    This is a structured Hybrid Position which requires working in our Syracuse, NY facility: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Tuesday and Thursday are optional in office, or home office workdays. Therefore, candidates must reside within reasonable drivable distance to the facility.

    Wenger Corporation is seeking a

    Controls Engineer

    responsible for the design, start-up, programming and testing of automation systems, used primarily in theatre environments. This position requires an average of 50% travel to customer sites.

    At a minimum, you'll need:


    Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of Engineering with emphasis on controls and automation; four (4) years of equivalent experience with Theatrical Automation Design; or six (6) years of equivalent experience with Industrial Automation Design.

    Proven experience planning, designing, and troubleshooting of electrical, computer and control systems

    The ability to work in a variety of field environments, including working at heights

    Proven experience interpreting architectural and mechanical drawings/blueprints

    It'd be great if you also have:

    Experience in a Theatre environment

    Strong familiarity with Windows and PC operation required familiarity with other PC operating systems

    Demonstrated experience in CAD drafting (AutoCAD 2012 minimum)

    Project design and development experience working in a team environment to satisfy project requirements

    As a Controls Engineer, a typical day might include:

    Troubleshooting electrical circuits, processors, and communication networks of installed equipment

    Loading and debugging software

    Requisitioning parts for controls projects

    Testing outgoing motors and starters

    Designing and drawing electrical circuits for control systems

    Training end users

    Identifying nonconformities and initiating Corrective Action Reports and Supplier Corrective Action Reports, as needed

    Assisting Manufacturing, Sales, and other Wenger departments in interpreting drawings and documents
