    JOB SUMMARY

    The Quality Specialist serves as a facilitator for clinical performance improvement initiatives and guides the development, ongoing review, and implementation of evidence-based guidelines. These guidelines include medical guidelines, order sets, and nursing clinical pathways. Facilitates and supports multidisciplinary teams to achieve clinical performance improvements goals and objectives. Supports Care Delivery through education and training of staff, physicians, and allied health personnel.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Other duties may be assigned.

    · Effectively facilitate the development, revision, and implementation of evidence-based guidelines; including review of current guidelines, protocol order sets, and nursing clinical pathways.

    · Ensures the evidence-based guidelines are reviewed and revised based upon ongoing literature review, at least every 12-18 months or as practice/evidence changes.

    · Effectively lead teams or manage projects to achieve clinical performance improvement strategic imperatives/goals and objectives.

    · Use problem-solving framework and performance improvement methodologies to include use of lean six-sigma and PDSA cycles for rapid-cycle change.

    · Use of clinical decision support system, data analysis, and data reporting to transform data into information for supporting clinical process improvement activities.

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

    · Masters' degree in healthcare related field from an accredited college/university required or actively working towards a Master's degree with successful completion within 12 months of hire.

    · Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Florida.

    · Certification in healthcare quality strongly desired.

    · Experience with data analysis or performance improvement preferred.

    · Team leading experience preferred.

    · Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.

    · Experience with a Cerner preferred, or an electronic medical record required.

    · Intermediate computer knowledge: Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows
