    Human Resources Manager

    PositionReports To: Executive Director

    Position Status: Full Time, Salary, exempt position. The core work week is Monday through Friday. Ability to work nights and weekends as required. Benefits included Paid Holidays, PTO, 401K and Health Insurance.

    Compensation: $60,000-$70,000 per year

    Job Summary:

    We are looking for an experienced HR Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have proven track record of managing HR operations and implementing HR policies and procedures. The HR Manager will be responsible for overseeing the recruitment process, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, onboarding and offboarding, HR best practices, payroll, and other daily HR activities of the organization. The HR Manager will facilitate a positive inclusive culture by promoting HFHHCs values and shaping a positive work environment.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provide insight and recommendations to both short and long-term growth plans of the organization.
    • Create and maintain guiding human resource documents such as the employee handbook, job descriptions, and personnel policies.
    • Support leadership by facilitating and maintaining professional development plans for employees in the organization.
    • Identify processes and utilize systems to provide operational efficiencies.
    • Document and implement policies, procedures and processes as deemed appropriate by Executive Leadership Team.
    • Foster positive relationships among all staff, Board Members and volunteers.
    • Assist Executive Director in ensuring strong partnership and meaningful collaboration between programs, development, finance and other departments.
    • Ensure that processes and procedures are documented in accordance with HFHI standards.
    • Ensure all program activities operate consistently and ethically within the mission and values of Habitat and develop and maintain clarity of strategic focus across all programs.
    • Train team members on the organization's safety policies and procedures.
    • Exercise outlined protocol with management on any safety related incident and/or respond to reports involving Habitat or any other related team members (workers, volunteers, and subcontractors)
    • Assist Restore Director in ensuring ReStore Team/Location management are trained and adhere to essential safety policies and practices.
    • Ensures that organization safety reporting to local, regional and governing administrative bodies is done in a timely manner.
    • Procure insurance coverages for the organization, including, but not limited to, umbrella, general liability, property, workers' comp., D&O, and auto.
    • Ensure all federal, state and/or local tax, withholding and other government reporting is completed/maintained as required for not-for-profit organizations.
    • Develop and implement human resources policies and procedures in accordance with local and federal laws.
    • Manage recruitment activities including sourcing, interviewing, selection and onboarding.
    • Establish effective communication channels between management and staff.
    • Manage employee relations issues and resolved conflicts in a timely manner.
    • Analyze and report on labor market trends and salary surveys.
    • Coordinate and implement employee benefits programs.
    • Perform all aspects of Payroll.
    • Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance operational effectiveness and improve team productivity.
    • Provide coaching and mentorship, conduct performance evaluations, and establish inclusive work cultures.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 8 years of professional experience, with a minimum of 5 years of supervising staff across multiple departments. Non-Profit Experience is a plus.
    • A bachelor's degree in business management, human resources, or a related field.
    • SHRM Certification is preferred.
    • Outstanding and proven leadership and team building abilities, including the ability to motivate and inspire a team while also holding staff members accountable for individual and group goals.
    • A strong entrepreneurial spirit and desire to build and grow organizational capacity.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Teams.
