**Manufacturing Shift Leader (2nd Shift)**
6701 Good Hope Rd, Milwaukee, WI 53223, USA Req #257 Thursday, December 30, 2021 **We are hiring a Shift Leader who will be responsible for verifying Process Technicians and Packaging Operators are following all standard work procedures, that daily shift counts are accurate, and assuring automated packaging equipment is accurate and functional, as well as keeping work areas clean and orderly.**
**The Shift Leader is also responsible for scheduling, staffing, assisting in training, and employee issues.**
What You Will Do:
Perform daily quality audits of each cell in the assigned bay.
Verify Packaging Operators are following standard work procedures.
Verify job changeover procedures are being followed.
Assist in initial and continued Packaging Operator and Cell Lead training.
Perform daily shift meeting and shift change-out with other Cell Leaders.
Perform Press Audits and 5S checklists and follow up on failures.
Monitor production balances, down time and production counts. Advise Mfg. Team Supervisor of any concerns as they relate to production.
Review and verify data in MATTEC (production monitoring system) such as work order changes, packed production counts, and downtime codes.
Thoroughly understand work orders and instructions for the work order and assure Packaging Operators are following them correctly.
Verify hourly in-process quality checks/inspections on product for non-conformance then verify results via Shift Log.
Ensure the proper packaging of product throughout the shift.
Ensure Packaging Operators are packaging all conforming product according to the work order and standard work instruction postings.
Verify finished product is properly labeled, including bags and boxes, according to specifications.
Verify finished product is properly stacked on pallets according to the skid stacking specifications.
Communicate all quality and/or process issues to the Mfg. Team Supervisor and/or Processing Technician.
Communicate to Supervisor, Lab and Process Tech when a non-conformance is identified.
Assist with backtracking of nonconforming product to minimize the amount going on Hold and complete Hold ticket properly.
Assure minimal amounts of scrap and non-conforming product is being produced.
Coordinate with Inventory Control Clerk the movement of supplies or finished goods when necessary.
Make minor adjustments to automated baggers, including water specifications and seal head timers for proper and correct packaging requirements.
Complete routine changes on automated packaging equipment including work order number print and bag stock changes.
Communicate to Mfg. Team Supervisor regarding pending and potential changes.
Ensure production counts and the new work order gets entered MATTEC. Verify all supplies are returned to the proper storage locations after the production run is complete.
**What You Bring:**
**High school diploma or equivalency required.**
**6+ months of prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.**
Basic computer/data entry skills using a mouse and/or keyboard is required.
Ability to read, write, and accurately perform basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide).
Ability to follow written or oral instructions accurately.
Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 40 lbs.
Must be a quality conscious, detail orientated individual.
Regular attendance and the ability to work overtime/weekends as needed is a requirement of the job.
***Please note:*** Training for this position takes place on 1st shift for the first two months.
