- Actively manages contractor's adherence to EHS programs such as, contractor training, incident management, incident investigation and corrective actions, waste management & minimization, safe work permits, fall protection compliance, etc.
- Conduct safety audits of the worksite at a set frequency as well as other process safety activities on-site.
- Assist in building and promoting a strong safety culture throughout the facility.
- Work with Contractor Construction Manager and Wauwatosa Facility Manager to develop and implement detailed, task level, day to day EHS practices and procedures in accordance with Bostik requirements.
- Leads/participates on incident investigation teams consistent with the level of EHS expertise needed.
- Participates with coaching contractor management teams with regard to EHS challenges/activities.
- Ensures Bostik facility security requirements are understood and followed by contractor(s).
- Acts as an EHS technical resource for EHS information related to capital project reviews.
- Work with site and regional EHS staff to provide monthly reporting on a wide range of metrics for EHS topics.
- Preferred four-year college degree in occupational safety, construction safety, or other related discipline(s) OR High School diploma, GED or equivalent with at least 2+ years commensurate work experience in construction industry.
- Actively identify, communicate, and implement improvement needs and initiatives in EHS.
- Effectively respond to company KPI shortcomings and corrective action plans.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Must be capable of effective conflict resolution.
- Demonstrated & effective skills associated with Safe Work Permits including writing and auditing of SWP and associated activities.
- Demonstrated and effective skills with CFR1926 Subpart M Fall Protection including auditing work on roofs and fall protection devices.
- Must be capable of effectively communicating technical details in interactions with contractors, management, plant meetings, and in training sessions.
- Ability to identify, assess, prioritize, and manage risk appropriately.
- Must be capable of technical interaction with senior level management.
- Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple and sometimes changing priorities.
- Educate, foster, and support organizational commitment to EHS performance including safety culture.
