    Deputy Chief Engineer of Electrical Systems

    for Axiom's Extra-Vehicular Activity (EVA) program

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    Provide oversight of program-wide implementation of electrical engineering design and development of power, avionics, controls, and software to support Axiom's EVA System as it evolves through development and into a sustaining flight program

    Translate high-level system requirements, standards, and specifications into well-defined practices for consistent implementation across the EVA program

    Ensure avionics design principles are understood and incorporated

    Altium design experience/PCB design experience preferred

    SPICE simulator experience preferred

    Review designs, plans, schematics, and drawings to ensure that they comply with regulations, requirements, and standard

    Provide engineering leadership to identify and support the products required for program milestones

    Collaborate with the EVA Office of the Chief Engineer (OCE) to provide avionics and software development support on a companywide level as necessary

    Provide mentorship to engineering staff as part of the OCE's team

    Participate actively in team brainstorming and technical review meetings

    Perform other duties as assigned


    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Education & Experience

    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required

    15+ years of experience in electrical, electronics, or avionics design

    Experience with development of avionics software is preferred

    Experience with project development, work management, and resource planning

    Familiarity with implementation of NASA Standards, Federal Standards, and/or DOD Standards, as applied to electrical and electronics design

    Prior experience with spaceflight development and flight implementation preferred

    Essential Functions

    Work Environment:
    Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

    Requirements

    Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

    Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.

    Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.

    Physical Requirements

    Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
