    Job Description Summary

    The Combustor and Structural Parts Design Resident Engineer is a key member of the team at GE Lynn facility in the U.S. This role involves integrating and developing processes to address strategic business needs, managing complex issues within the combustor and structural parts commodity, and contributing to long-term planning. The position requires close collaboration with CSC Value Stream counterparts to enhance producibility, quality, and delivery of parts.

    Job Description

    Roles and Responsibilities
    • Act as on-site engineering liaison to enhance communication between engineering and supply chain.
    • Collaborate with shops, suppliers, and colleagues to meet producibility and process capability targets.
    • Drive manufacturing and design integration process rigor as the shop engineering representative to ensure on-time engine delivery.
    • Execute assigned projects applying engineering principles, business standards, and product requirements.
    • Exercise judgment to address complex tasks in operational, manufacturing, or engineering areas.
    • Interact with engineers from various disciplines, manufacturing & quality, and industry experts.
    • Challenge existing processes, recommend improvements, and drive change.
    • Utilize engineering and manufacturing knowledge to execute technically complex projects.
    • Lead technical projects collaborating with field and industry experts.
    • Mentor and provide technical oversight for colleagues.
    Required Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Materials Engineering
    • Minimum 3 years of design engineering experience
    Desired Characteristics
    • Previous experience in design of combustor and/or structural components
    • Experience in manufacturing, especially of combustor and/or structural components
    • Friendly approach to teamwork
    • Experience with Ansys, Unigraphics, and GD&T
    • Passion for problem-solving and mentoring
    • Strong communication and project management skills
    • Significant experience with Material Review Board Activities

    The Production Technologies EIS acts as the on-site engineering liaison to support communication and cooperation between engineering, supply chain, and the shop facility.
