- Tuesday-Saturday (off Sunday & Monday) or Thursday-Monday (0ff Tuesday & Wednesday).
- Work 11:00pm-7:30am or until work is completed, typically 8-12 hours per day.
- Work schedule may change based on business needs; must be flexible with work schedule.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform preventative and as-needed maintenance of semi trailers.
- Interpret and follow work orders and technical manuals.
- Maintain schedules and document completed preventative maintenance and repairs.
- Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems.
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance; ensure work meets manufacturer's specifications according to FMCSR (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations).
- Maintaining parts and yard organization (with direction from operations management) to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a trailer mechanic performing Preventive Maintenance Inspections and Repairs to dry storage trailers of multiple manufacturers in the Company Fleet.
- Must have air-brakes certification.
- Familiar with FHWA (Federal Highway Administration), and FMCSR (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations), BIT (Basic Inspection of Terminals) inspections.
- High School Diploma or GED (Preferred).
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Candidate must provide his/her own tools.
- Potential of some commute and work in mobile shop locations (no road side) to satellite locations in company vehicle.
- Valid driver's license may be required with no suspensions and/or revocations in connection with a moving violation within the past three (3) years. No CDL required.
