    SUMMARYDivision Senior Controls Engineer is responsible for design working across engineering and maintenance groups to lead major automation capital projects up to $25M as well as to identify and prioritize critical controls projects, and assist with detailed project specifications that help guide the division and the plants towards controls upgrades for critical manufacturing equipment.

    Senior Controls Engineer will engage a variety of engineering resources both internal and external, to execute projects on-time and within budget.

    working to help define controls systems strategy and standards across the Metals DivisionESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    Lead effort to specify equipment, design automation systems, and manage contractors to execute CAPEX projects up to $25M.

    Responsible for timely and on budget execution of Automation scope for large CAPEX.Host regular PCC Controls best practices sharing/review sessions for all plants in the Metals DivisionLead and contribute to team projects that involve multiple disciplines.

    Communicate with all levels of operations, engineering, and management.

    Propose and lead other projects in engineering, process improvement, and R&D.Work and communicate effectively with a wide range of disciplines and management team.

    Create and modify programs of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to solve known issues.
    Design and oversee implementation of new industrial control and safety rated electrical circuits.
    Identify and propose solutions to electrical distribution and industrial control problems.
    Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of work for electrical projects.
    Advise and assist facilities engineers on electrical aspects of facilities projects. Provide expert technical advice on problems concerning industrial control systems.
    Provide guidance to electrical engineers so that all work done complies with plant standards.

    Maintain documentation of the plant's electrical distribution and industrial control systemsA firm understanding of relational database structures and query languages.

    An aptitude for translating complex, technical subjects into clear, business-oriented communication.

    Maintain knowledge of the trends and technologies in data collection, management, data services and integrationsOther duties as required by management.

    Provide technical support and troubleshooting for equipment failures and loss of production. Assist maintenance and provide technical guidance required to return equipment to operation to minimize downtime and lost production.
    Travel as needed.

    Develop specifications for required hardware, software, and system communication wiring.

    Extensive knowledge and training in product manufacturing.
    General knowledge of manufacturing processes involved in manufacturing of forged or flat rolled metal products.

    Fulfill the roles of facilitator, coach, mentor, counselor and communicator.
    Computer skills and the ability to advance those skills as required.
    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE10+ Years of Controls-related Automation ExperienceB.S. or M.S. in electrical engineering or related fieldFormal training or experience with Preventive and Predictive Maintenance programs.
    SPECIAL SKILLSAdept at reading and creating electrical and control system drawings/documentation including line diagrams, P&ID diagrams, Ladder logic documentation.
    Experience with 2D drafting software such as AutoCad LTExperience programming Allen Bradley Logix PLCs or equivalent, Modicon Quantum PLCs or equivalentExperience in 480V and industrial control circuit designThorough understanding of NFPA 70 (National Electric Code), ANSI/ISA Controls standardsUnderstanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems used in closed loop control circuitsUnderstanding of motion control systems including hydraulic and servo motion controlsAdvanced understanding of Ethernet/IP, Modbus, and other network configurationsSQL, TSQL or PLSQL a plusVB.NET, VBAm C, Perl, Python General Software (MS OfficeWonderwareSAPIndustrial ProgramingData ManagementStatistical Packages
