Job Description - Financial Aid Advisor (Pulaski, TN M1)The Financial Aid Advisor is responsible for counseling new and returning students on financing their education, tracking student eligibility for federal and state funds, and eligibility for institutional aid.
Knowledge base for all federal, state, and institutional regulations and other duties as assigned.Counseling and awarding new and returning students with an assigned section of the alphabet. Counsels International, Grow Your Own (GYO), and transfer students. Communicate outstanding items including verification requirements, FAFSA C Flags, loan entrance counseling, MPN, etc. Complete verification for new and returning students from assigned sections of the alphabet.
Eventually, all financial aid advisors will be cross trained in both federal and state areas. Before this, mandatory training and webinars to become proficient in all federal and state regulations. FAFSA simplification, SAI, COA, and work-study are examples. Help assist with the work-study program. Assist with satisfactory academic programs (SAP). Assist students with FAFSA (walk-ins & via appointment) and attend FAFSA work-shops on campus and at local high schools. Other duties as assigned.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree
Experience:
2 years working in a customer service
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft products and Google products.
Ability to travel locally and work evenings when necessary
