Position Summary

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will work closely with project managers and other team leads locally and nationally to execute work involving conventional types of civil engineering principals and other related activities for buried infrastructure projects.
You will provide support for a variety of projects that may include planning, evaluation, design, and construction related activities for wastewater, water, and stormwater conveyance systems.
We are looking for candidates who have a passion for the environment, meeting new people, and desire to learn from seasoned professionals in a team environment.
Specific duties may include the following:
Perform field assessments to evaluate and document existing site-specific conditions or collect design criteria.
Assist with environmental studies, permitting and alternative analysis
Perform calculations, prepare technical drawings, specifications, and reports under supervision
Check performance or conformity with design plans and specifications through field inspection and reporting
Assist with the preparation of technical memoranda, reports and electronic deliverables
Collect and record data and documentation
Prepare spreadsheets, documents, drawings and maps (in ArcMap/GIS or AutoCAD)
Execute planning, assessment, detailed design, and construction administration assignments
Communicate effectively and coordinate with project teams under other disciplines (drafters, designers, and subcontractors)
Education and/or Experience
BS degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Science or other related field
EIT preferred
MS degree desirable
0 to 3 years of related work experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Project, PowerPoint, Outlook)
ArcMap/GIS skills, highly preferred
AutoCAD skills, highly preferred
Experience with data management (e.g. SQL)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
If an employee plans to use their own vehicle in the scope of their employment with Shrewsberry, they will be required to provide proof of insurance and a drivers license
Position may include frequent local travel and to field project sites throughout the DC Metro region.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment under tight and pressured deadlines
Ability to successfully manage and deliver on multiple tasks with competing priorities
The successful candidate's traits will include being a self-starter, being results and quality-oriented, and having good attention to detail, a positive attitude, and enthusiasm to learn and grow
