The City of Santa Fe Springs Finance Department is seeking a highly-motivated individual for the position of Principal Accountant.
The Principal Accountant will participate in difficult and advanced professional accounting duties involving analysis preparation maintenance major financial records statutory reports advise department management on financial matters serve primary liaison with external auditors under general supervision receives general supervision Director Finance designee exercises direct supervision professional technical support staff trains accounting staff proper application accounting standards procedures reviews approves account numbers journal entries transactions prepares reviews reconciles ledger journal subsidiary accounts bank statements invoices other transactional reports includes Special Revenue Capital Projects completes State Federal financial grant reports coordination recipient departments manages corresponding accounts prepares Controller's Report Redevelopment Agency's Controller's Report Housing Community Development Report CAFR report necessary schedules spreadsheets consultant annual AB1600 report Statement Indebtedness Redevelopment Agency Component Unit Financial Statement accounts Redevelopment Agency term loans debt issues maintains schedules City inter-fund loans makes journal entries necessary cash flow reports analyses City particular types capital projects estimates division budget debt service budgets revenue projections various financial statements completes accounting analyses various Redevelopment Agency agreements reconciles tax receipts calculates annual AD CFD tax roll assessments prepares required documentation oversees property tax receipts county correspondence spreadsheets relating assessment delinquencies administers City bond issues maintaining amortization schedules debt service payments arbitrage calculations reserve requirements prepares analysis bond calls closings related correspondence maintains spreadsheets formation deposits cost issuance provide responsible complex administrative support Director Finance areas finance accounting budgeting treasury debt administration ensures compliance legal record keeping according accepted accounting procedures ensures verification processing recording accounts receivable payable payroll transactions manages water utility billing systems assist preparation Annual Comprehensive Financial Report city budgets special annual reports federal state local laws rules regulations fulfills state federal reporting requirements assists managing treasury investments performs related duties required representative competencies qualifications listed below generally demonstrate possession minimum requisite knowledge ability perform essential functions typically obtained Bachelor degree finance related field college coursework extension classes supervisory managerial training Certified Public Accounting CPA certificate desired five years close experience finance closely related field including leadership public contact experience one year administrative supervisory experience municipal experience preferred valid California driver license acceptable driving record<\/p>
